Ocean Flower Pendant
Carved Vesuvianite (or idocrase) stone flower with aquamarine center.
The unusual dark blue green of this carved stone might be mistaken for jade found along the California coast where I live. I knew it wasn’t jade when I bought it but was very attracted to the color and the carving and so couldn’t resist it. I asked my stone expert friend, Sky, to identify it for me. No matter the name, I love this piece and the color. I paired it with the glowing aquamarine cab to create a stacked setting for this one-of-a-kind pendant.
The flower is 40mm diameter. Top of bail to bottom of stone is 64mm. The top quality sterling silver round foxtail chain is 22” long with a lobster clasp.
