These beads all have a "metallic" deposit on the surface of the glass. Holding the finished bead in a reducing flame (fuel rich, oxygen poor) brings the metal to the surface, creating a beautiful reflective line around the stone-like patterning of the various elements. This can be very much like the raku glaze on pottery or like some precious stone dug from the earth.

All beads slide easily on a 12 gauge wire. .about the size of beads
